MOVEment: Spatial Reverse
AnOther Magazine, Editorial Short Film, 2015

‘MOVEment’ is a unique series of short films uniting fashion, dance and cinema.  AnOther Magazine invited seven of the biggest names in fashion to create bespoke costumes for seven specially choreographed performances, which were then interpreted for the screen by seven pioneering directors.

One of the seven films, ‘Spatial Reverse’ was directed by Warren Du Preez and Nick Thronton-Jones (Black Dog Films) and features two of couture fashion designer Iris Van Herpen’s beautiful creations.  The film depicts an otherworldly performance as the model – Carys Staton – twists and contorts through thin air, in moves coordinated by acclaimed choreographer Russell Maliphant.

Laura Jean Healey was hired to work as the Digital High Speed Technician, operating the Phantom Flex camera and assisting the Director of Photography, Magni Agustsson in reaching Warren & Nick’s vision.

The seven films were premiered at the Sadler’s Wells’ Lilian Baylis Studio on Saturday 18th April and were released on line on 20th April 2015.  Head over to AnOther Magazine’s YouTube channel or to watch the full series of films.
