SWEET ‘ART SHOW #1

A show in aid of International Women’s Day, March 2013

International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900's, now held annually on the 8th of March, and brings together a global web of rich and diverse activity connecting women from all over the world.

Sweet ‘Art believes in art that is thought provoking, intelligent, and challenging in it’s consideration of both aesthetic and concept. Bringing together over thirty exceptional international artists of different disciplines, Show #1 explored the ideas of what it is to be a woman today, our role in today’s society, the celebration and study of the female form, feminism and female issues. Through the visual narratives on offer we are given a glimpse into the minds and lives of a group of exceptional artists, both male and female, whose work is held together by a common theme.

Show #1 was held at The Crypt Galley (St. Pancras Church, London), where The Siren was exhibited for the first time as a 2-dimensional film installation. The show was curated by Corrina Eastwood and Charlotte Meddings, the founds of Sweet ‘Art and ran from 9th - 14th March 2013.
